The idea of how The Palace in Spruce Pine turned into a book

For the last 10 years, I travelled to the mountains of North Carolina as a means to clear my head and to ground myself. One of the places I always found myself was Spruce Pine, NC. This is a small town that is situated in Mitchell County and has an amazing history. The nickname for this town is called Gem Mountain. The reason is that a great deal of precious and semi-precious gemstones are located in this area. Not to mention quartz, mica and feldspar which is in constant demand around the world
